About
Cloprostenol is a luteolytic agent acting in the same way as PGF2alpha. The luteolytic effecttakes place through direct interaction with receptors in the corpus luteum, and the effect
on the blood supply of the corpus luteum is also discussed. After administration of a therapeutic dose,
a luteolytic effect occurs within a few minutes, which is up to 400 times stronger compared to PGF2alpha.
The contractile effect on smooth muscle does not differ from the effect of PGF2alpha.
Usage
Cows - synchronization of estrus during diestrus, anestrus and uterine diseaseduring progesterone cycle blockade, induction of abortion up to the 150th day of pregnancy,
mummified fetuses, induction of labor.
Sows – synchronization and induction of labor from the 111th day of pregnancy.
Warnings
Pregnant animals in which it is not desirable to induce laboror abortion. Spastic disease of the respiratory or digestive system.
